Certified pharmacy technician

Not every person you see working in a pharmacy is a certified pharmacy technician. Being a pharmacist is not as easy as it may seem, and becoming a pharmacy technician is even harder. Many years of education and hard work are necessary in order someone to be able to acquire the certificate. As a term ‘certified pharmacy technician’ is used in the United States of America and the abbreviation is CPhT and it is a higher qualification compared to a pharmacist, but lower than a registered pharmacist, which has to be a doctor of pharmacy. What is a Certified Pharmacy Technician? The United States does not have a national regulatory body that issues degrees or certificates for a pharmacy technician. In other countries, such as the Great Britain, the position is called pharmacy technician and the Technicians have to be acknowledged by the General Pharmaceutical Council. However, in the United States there are few ways for someone to become a certified pharmacy technician, but becoming one does not require a university degree.
